Learning TechnologyFAS is dedicated to creating and improving training tools used by the building industry by applying advanced learning technologies to train personnel.  Utilizing advanced learning technologies is a key component to creating a building workforce with the skills necessary to construct, renovate, weatherize, and inspect the energy efficient, safe, and cost effective homes we need.  All publications in this section are available in Adobe Acrobat PDF form and can be accessed by clicking on the publication title.

Current Work:

The FAS Building Technologies Program is currently working with the International Code Council (ICC) to create a training course for building inspectors on how to inspect SIP structures.  This web-based training course utilizes advanced interactive technologies such as "Second Life" and "Medulla" to teach inspectors about SIPs and how to properly utilize SIPs in construction, virtually walking trainees through the process of spotting errors in a SIP house.
